BIRTHDAY WISHES

Birthday wishes this month go to:

Josie  and also  to Joan. No leap year birthdays this year.

Our Burns celebrations were well received and enjoyed by all who attended.
We were treated to a lovely rendition of Addressing the Haggis by Lizzie Allan (somewhere under that beard) who put her heart and soul into it.

This was followed by the serving of Potatoes & Leek soup. The ingredients were picked from our vegetable garden and proved to be very tasty.
Tea and coffee was served along with traditional shortbread and biscuits donated by the Co-Op and displayed by some of our members above.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

February –

13th February – Marbling Session

March –

Card Making workshop – date yet to be confirmed.

‘Tip of the Month’

They could then be sold at our Christmas fayre to help raise funds.

Community Garden

With the onset of spring we look to our green-fingered volunteers to come along and tend the grounds, vegetable and herb sections also.

Without your assistance we would not have such a rich choice of vegetables, etc. Your time is much appreciated by all and a big THANK YOU to everyone.

REGARDING THE EASTFIELD COMMUNITY CENTRE'S THREAT FROM CLOSURE:
The Eastfield Community Centre Management Committee take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters who are members of our community groups and those who submitted the on-line survey to the South Lanarkshire Council helping us to fight our corner. Very well done! The good news is that the centre will not be closing 1st April 2024 as we are in negotiations presently applying for an Community Asset Transfer. This will take perhaps several months to realise, and we ask you to continue using the centre to the full and maintain your unwavering support for this facility on your doorstep. Let us do our best to keep our community alive as we use this precious resource for our activities, groups and forging long lasting friendships.
